No, it was “absolutely not” about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.

Selena Gomez has beef with the internet — and the internet only.

By now, you’ve probably seen the viral clips of Gomez stopping at besties Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry’s table during a commercial break at the 2024 Golden Globes for a quick gossip session. Of course, the internet does what it does best, and fans immediately began trying to read their lips to get a better glimpse at whatever piping hot tea Gomez was spilling. One theory, which quickly caught on, was that Gomez was telling Swift and Sperry that she had asked to take a photo with Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, said no.

Now, Gomez (who is no stranger to setting the record straight online) is shutting down those rumors. A source told People that “she was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie” and that Gomez “never even saw or spoke to them.”

The speculation comes after last year’s “eyebrow gate,” when fans thought Jenner and pal Hailey Bieber were making fun of Gomez on social media. Both Gomez and Jenner denied the feud. “This is reaching,” Jenner commented on a TikTok. “No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.” Gomez responded,  “Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

Gomez was nominated last night for her role in Only Murders in the Building, and while she didn’t technically take home the trophy, she still considers herself a winner. After the ceremony, Gomez shared an adorable behind-the-scenes snap of her and boyfriend Benny Blanco smooching.

“I won,” she captioned the Story.
