Fever fans notice same Caitlin Clark difference from first workout with Stephanie White
Indiana Fever fans have all noticed the same thing about Caitlin Clark as she caught the eye during the first workout with new head coach Stephanie White
Indiana Fever fans were buzzing to see Caitlin Clark back on the court during a busy off-season but seemingly her work off court hasn’t gone unnoticed.
The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year returned back to practice for the first time under new Fever head coach Stephanie White. Clark caught the eye in a video uploaded by Indiana of the practice session which appeared to show that she’s being hitting the weights since the end of last season.
Fever fans were excited to see the two linking up for the first time but some also suggested that White has already made her mark on Clark with the star putting on muscle from her build last season. Clark was subjected to brutal plays last year from oppositions and it would seem that she’s taking the first steps to hit back.
“I think it’s safe to say Caitlin Clark has put on some muscle (eyes emoji)” one Clark fan page wrote on X as they shared two images of before-and-after photo of Clark last season and the recent training picture showing visibly growth in her physique.
A second user wrote: “Gains (tensed bicep emoji) can’t wait to see how well she does this year.” While a third agreed: “No more stick arms and chicken legs..them girls better not be messing with her next season.” Another comment echoed the feeling that her WNBA rivals won’t have an easy time pushing her around the court this year, adding: “She’s not going to be bullied around this season.”
The rest of Clark’s training video saw her taking on advice from White before she was put through her paces with dribbling and passing drills before she got her eye in during shooting practice before the video ends with Clark and White high-fiving at the end of a busy session.
Clark and the Fever picked up their form at the end of last season to make the team’s first playoff appearance since 2016. However, their postseason run was ended by the Connecticut Sun in consecutive defeats, ultimately leading to head coach Christie Sides departing after just two years with the franchise.
Sides was replaced by former Sun coach and 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year White, who ended Indiana’s campaign last season. The new era in Indiana is cause for excitement with Clark and her team-mates now under new stewardship, which appears to already be making gains in the weights room.
Clark hit the ground running in the WNBA as she established herself as one of the best players in the league during her record-breaking rookie year where she also made the All-WNBA first team. The upcoming campaign will see expectant eyes on Clark again as the league tips off in May.
