Fans in disbelief after hearing Chelsea's future fee for Jadon Sancho

Chelsea have agreed a deal to take Jadon Sancho on loan, with the move containing an obligation to buy.

Jadon Sancho is on his way to Chelsea from Manchester United and the future fee owed has become a huge talking point.

Although he returned to United in the summer after patching things up with Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils still didn’t see a future for him and were happy to let him move on.

Chelsea expressed interest and there was briefly talk about a possible swap deal with Raheem Sterling, who is now seemingly on his way to Arsenal.

Sancho gave the move the green light and Chelsea have reached an agreement with United.

The former Borussia Dortmund man will join on a season-long loan but there will be an obligation to buy.

Mike Keegan from the Daily Mail claims it will be between £20 million and £25 million, with Fabrizio Romano stating Chelsea must pay the latter fee.

United forked out £73 million to land Sancho in 2021 and the drop in price has staggered many.

One fan wrote: “Such a big financial loss in transfer fee and wages.”

A second said: “United got scammed by Chelsea again.”

A third fumed: “A lot worse than I expected man, what a terrible deal.”

A fourth opined: “Damn Chelsea pulled a heist.”

Another user simply commented: “Shocking deal.”

Having banished him from the first-team early last season after refusing to apologise for a social media post, Ten Hag hinted at keeping Sancho in the United squad given the fixture congestion this season.

He had a cameo in the Community Shield and missed a crucial spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out to Manchester City, before missing out on a place in squads for Premier League clashes with Fulham and Brighton.

Sancho made 83 appearances for United, scoring 12 times and winning the Carabao Cup in 2023.
