Jim Harbaugh coached Colin Kaepernick during their time together in San Francisco.
The Michigan Wolverines just won the CFP national championship under the leadership of Jim Harbaugh, who is now receiving a lot of attention from NFL teams.
Harbaugh has been one of the most sought-after head coach candidates around the league and this time he even gets an endorsement from the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
According to USA Today, Kaepernick responded to their question about how he feels about Harbaugh’s potential return to the league, via the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Harbaugh is the one coach you call when you want to compete for a championship. Period.
Colin Kaepernick told USA Today
The controversial former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick played under Jim Harbaugh during their time together in San Francisco. Under their combination, the Niners made a magical Super Bowl run back in 2012, when they eventually lost in the championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.
But, that was the breakout season for Kaepernick, who filled in for an injured Alex Smith and eventually took over the starting quarterback Job.
Nonetheless, Harbaugh eventually left the NFL and accepted a head coaching gig with the Wolverines, where he became one of the best coaches in the program’s history, even winning a national championship title. Now, he is once again one of the highly sought-after head coach candidates in this hiring cycle.
During the 2023 off-season, Harbaugh met with the Carolina Panther owner David Tepper for an interview, but later he decided to stick with Michigan. Now, that he has won a national championship with the Wolverines, Harbaugh might be thinking about returning to the league, where he will certainly get a lot of offers.
Jim Harbaugh’s future remains a mystery for now
Immediately after the Michigan Wolverines won the championship title last week, Jim Harbaugh was asked about his future plans, which seemingly pissed off the decorated head coach.

I just want to enjoy this. I hope you give me that. Can a guy have that?. Does it always have to be, ‘What’s next, what’s the future?
Harbaugh said after the game
Jim Harbaugh already had a good head coaching gig in the NFL with the 49ers. So, many teams now rank him at the top of their head coach candidates lists. He hasn’t had interviews with any NFL teams so far in this hiring cycle.
But, if he wants a job in the league, he would certainly have an offer at the table. On the other hand, he also has a massive contract extension from the Wolverines too. However, for now, it seems like Harbaugh is still contemplating his future plans and remains uncommitted to Michigan.
