One traditionally doesn’t meet their beau’s parents until well into the relationship, so one Brazilian influencer was understandably taken aback after a man introduced her to his family — on their very first date together.

“It’s not every day you go on a date and end up in the middle of a family reunion,” Débora Porto, 35, told Jam Press about the awkward lunchtime rendezvous. “It’s not every day you go on a date and end up in the middle of a family reunion.”

The content creator, who frequently shares body-positive photos and videos for her 2.1 million Instagram followers, said she met the mystery man at her gym.

“I was excited but also a little nervous because I didn’t know exactly what to expect,” said Porto.Jam Press/CO Press Office
“We ended up casually chatting about workouts and it was clear we had a connection,” recalled the bombshell, who said the gym shark eventually took down her number and asked her to lunch.

Porto was expecting a “fun but casual” affair until she arrived at the address and realized he’d invited the whole family like something out of a bad sitcom.

“I discovered it was lunch … but at his mum’s house, with the whole family gathered,” the gym “speechless” bunny recalled. “I was very uncomfortable because I wasn’t prepared for this kind of situation.”

Despite the awkward situation, Porto tried to maintain her composure during the lunch, which was no mean feat given that “everyone was looking at me with curiosity,” she said.
“It was hard to relax with so many eyes on me,” said the social media star, who kept wondering what was going on and how she should react.
Porto ended up staying at the cringe-worthy event for a few hours out of courtesy.

“In the end, I thanked them for their hospitality and was polite, but I was relieved to leave,” said the mortified gal.

Upon departing, she confronted her date about the excruciating first date idea.

“He apologized for not warning me beforehand, and I explained that I’d prefer to know in advance to avoid discomfort,” said Porto, who said the experience ultimately taught her to vet invites better.

“Today, I see it as an unusual experience and something that taught me to always ask for more details before accepting invitations!” she declared.
