Jay Williams left fans fuming with a controversial Steph Curry analysis live on First Take

ESPN guest host Jay Williams got the First Take cast hyped up before the episode with a speech too crude to share on live TV.

As First Take cameras started rolling for Thursday’s episode of the show, Molly Qerim welcomed fans to the broadcast.

She immediately expressed a desire to share Jay Williams’ opening speech, but joked she wanted to keep her job.

“Listen, I’d love to share with America the pep talk Jay Will just shared with us,” Qerim said.

“It’s not for Disney and I’m trying to keep my job.”

Even though his NSFW pep talk didn’t make it on air, Williams still had a controversial day on First Take while filling in for Stephen A. Smith.

Williams claimed during a NBA segment that Draymond Green’s recent ejection is calling Steph Curry’s leadership into question.

He also said those questions are diminishing his legacy.

“I’m getting texts from people that I really value their decision, high-level people,” Williams said.

“What these texts are reading is ‘Well how about the leadership of Stephen Curry?’ That’s where these conversations are going.

“Draymond Green is diminishing the ultimate legacy of how people are looking at the leadership of Stephen Curry.

“That’s what’s happening right now.”

NBA fans were baffled by Williams’ hot take and disagreed with him on Twitter while defending Curry.

“These talking heads will say anything when the camera is in front of them,” one fan said.

“Draymond doesn’t know how to act like an adult, so it’s Steph’s fault. Noted,” another fan said.

“Indeed. It’s Steph’s fault a grown man can’t keep his stuff together for more than 4 games at a time,” a third fan said.

“First Take really gets desperate when Stephen A isn’t there. I don’t believe this for a second,” a fourth fan said.
