An influencer who has spent $1million (around £760,688) to look like reality star Kim Kardashian has issued a warning after being left infertile by her most recent surgery.

Jennifer Pamplona, aged 31, who is a self-proclaimed “surgery addict”, has always wanted to look like TV personality Kim Kardashian, however, her dream came to an abrupt halt when her latest surgery went badly wrong.

The influencer and model, who has more than one million followers on her Instagram account, says she has now been robbed of a basic human function and is in “immense pain” due to complications from bottom fillers.

“I always dreamed of being a mother,” said the Brazilian influencer, while speaking to the local publication Need To Know. “Since I was young, I imagined the moment I would have my own children and start a family. Now I see that being destroyed by something I thought was a solution to improve my appearance. Unfortunately, I now find myself unable to fulfill this dream due to the complications caused by PMMA,” she added.

PMMA is Polymethyl-methacrylate, a substance used in creating dermal fillers, often for improving the skin’s contour or helping to fix scarring. It’s also used for buttock augmentations. Pamplona’s infertility is not directly linked with the use of PMMA, and her complications are most likely associated with either an adverse reaction or infection.  It is said that the substance is able to migrate from the injection site and move to other parts of the body, like the pelvic area, and can affect the reproductive organs’ functioning.

Pamplona said that she faced an adverse reaction to the material because it spread from her rear pelvic area and entered her reproductive organs when the doctors carried out a bioplasty on her a decade ago.

The influencer’s surgeon, Doctor Carlos Rios, said that the medical mishap turned into a “matter of life or death.” “The symptoms she exhibited were a direct consequence of this procedure. She was hanging by a thread,” he said in a self-produced documentary called, Addiction. The influencer added: “The suffering is immense, and the pain of not being able to create life is something I never imagined facing.”

The influencer has been undergoing plastic surgery for around half of her life in an effort to emulate the style of her celebrity icon and, since the age of 17, has had 30 procedures on her body and face.

She stopped going through such procedures after she was diagnosed with body dysmorphia in 2022, however. But, she may npw need to undergo reconstructive surgery to reverse the negative effects of her previous surgeries.

The influencer called on people to focus more on their emotional health rather than their physical appearance in an attempt to stop other people going through the health issues she is now facing.
