The quarterback’s mom Randi revealed in January that her father’s health took a turn.
But she still made it to New Orleans to support her Mahomes and revealed her father will be supporting his grandson.
She told People: “I know that it has meant a lot to him (that Patrick is in another Super Bowl).
“And I think he’s hanging on because he wants to see his grandson do an amazing thing or just let him play.

“I mean, he must be such a proud grandpa, so proud. And my mom was very proud and his other grandparents.”
Randi has kept Mahomes updated on his grandfather’s health but has tried not to “bug him” as he looks to make it three Super Bowl win in a row.
She has provided updates on social media about her 78-year-old father’s health but has never revealed precisely what the issue is.
Mahomes recently announced the birth of his third child, a second daughter called Golden Raye.

Mahomes – who married wife Brittany in 2022 – already has Sterling Skye, three, and son Patrick Mahomes III, two.
But he does not rule out more kids in the future – just not yet.

“My goal was always three. So we’ve had three,’ Mahomes said.
“We’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.
“It’s cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how our kids react to her. Having baby sissy and stuff like that.”
