Jamie Carragher has admitted he feels sorry for one Manchester United star this season.
The Red Devils have suffered an indifferent campaign under Erik ten Hag despite reaching the FA Cup final for a second successive campaign.
Set to face Manchester City in next month’s showpiece event at Wembley, the encounter may prove pivotal in United’s hopes of qualifying for Europe.
With Anthony Martial once again out of action for most of the season, Rasmus Hojlund has carried the weight in attack for Ten Hag’s side.

Having scored a respectable 14 goals so far, Carragher admits he does feel an element of pity for the Denmark international.
“I feel a bit sorry for Højlund. He’s a young lad, the jump he has made is probably a bit too much for him to start with,” he began via The Overlap, courtesy of Sky Bet.
“He should have gone somewhere else for two years then to Manchester United maybe. I just feel sorry for him.”

Aged just 21, there is clearly a bright future ahead for Hojlund at Manchester United.

But without the service to him from the Red Devils other attacking players, he has often looked lost in certain games.
Ten Hag recently admitted that he has full faith in the former Atalanta man to step up in what is set to be an exciting end of the season.
“With Hojlund, we had the biggest potential in the striker position last summer and we are very happy with him,” began the former Ajax boss when speaking to Gary Neville recently.
“But he also needs time to adapt and we are very pleased he showed his assets in scoring goals.

“He had a very good period where he scored many games after he showed it, but before and after, he had some physical issues, which is normal for a young player coming up.
“But it has a negative impact on the team results and that’s what you have to accept.”
