JEOPARDY! fans have nominated a contestant for the most epic fail in memory for her bizarre response to a clue about the 1980 horror film The Shining.

On Thursday night, Monica Theiu accidentally switched up two famous lines from the classic flick and committed with a hilariously ominous impression.

The Jeopardy! clue under “Pop Culture” for $800 read, “This catchphrase of Ed McMahon was uttered with creepy efficiency in ‘The Shining’”

College Championship winner Monica incorrectly responded, “What is Redrum?” with the croaky Danny Torrence voice from the movie, staring down Ken Jennings.

Ken swiftly ruled, “No,” and legendary contestant Chuck Forrest correctly answered with “Here’s Johnny.”

Realizing her mistake, Monica exclaimed, “Oh, the other one!”

Ken leaned into the bit and told her, wagging his finger, “I’d love to see Ed McMahon doing your ‘redrum!’” as the audience roared.

Ed McMahan was the announcer who would introduce Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show.

Jack Nicholson famously improvised the famed “Here’s Johnny!” line for the axe-wielding climax of the movie.

‘WITH THAT VOICE TOO!’

The game show shared the clip on Instagram of Monica mistaking the two quotes, captioning it, “HEEEEEERE’S MONICA.”

“I think Monica was too young to associate Here’s Johnny with Ed McMahon!” one fan commented.

“Ahahaha she said it with that dumb voice too,” joked another.

“Still giggling when the girl said ‘Redrum’ instead of ‘Here’s Johnny!'” wrote a third on X.

“Thanks for the laugh Redrum was the best delivery of a wrong answer. #jeopardy,” wrote a fourth.

To which another user replied, “Second, after ‘Mary Lou Retton/Scott Hamilton!'”

All said, it was the third contestant of the evening, Sam Kavanaugh, who won the Invitational Tournament match.

He is now a semifinalist in the competition, worth $100,000, and a spot in May’s Jeopardy! Masters event.

ON THIN ICE

As fans may recall, last month, a Jeopardy! contestant mistook an iconic male Olympic figure skater for a female gymnast, which they blamed on losing their glasses.

When the camera panned to the board, a youthful-looking Scott Hamilton at the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo was displayed on screen.

The contestants had to guess what American at the Winter Olympics won gold with a four-and-a-half-minute program featuring triple jumps.

Deb Bilodeau beat their opponents to the Jeopardy! clue and responded, “Who’s Mary Lou Retton?”

No one else buzzed in, prompting host Ken to reveal the correct response, “Who is Scott Hamilton?”

The restaurant server covered their mouth in embarrassment and exclaimed, “Sorry!”

During the interview segment, Deb said, “I apologize to Scott Hamilton. I did lose my glasses the day before I came down here.”

“My boyfriend was trying to get me to buy glasses here, so that’s that.”

“Poor Scott Hamilton. Or, poor Mary Lou Retton. Either way. Ouch,” one internet user wrote at the time.

“I laughed so hard! Poor Deb as well,” wrote another.

“I literally spit out a mouthful of wine!!,” a third person said.

The clip was posted on Jeopardy’s Instagram, with Hamilton himself responding, “It was the hair, wasn’t it?”
