Ice Cube Calls Out Oprah, The View For Blacklisting Him
The rapper continues to express his displeasure with those he feels have acted recklessly over the years.
Rapper Ice Cube takes the stage on night 2 of the 2023 ESSENCE™™ Cultural Festival on July 1, 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Ice Cube continues to speak his truth when it comes to a variety of political and social issues, this time accusing The View and Oprah of ignoring him for years because of his controversial views.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson — yes, that Tucker Carlson — the N.W.A. rapper revealed that he tried to get on The View but his views weren’t well received by many of the hosts.
“I tried to get on The View. They wouldn’t let me on The View,” Cube said. “Some of the hosts really didn’t like where I was coming from. That’s what the producers told me.
I’ve been there before. It’s just that I’m an independent thinker. I don’t follow their politics, I guess.”
As for Oprah, the Are We There Yet? actor explained that he was not invited on multiple times during her years on the talk show for unknown reasons.
“I didn’t know that. You know, I had a movie called Barbershop that I wasn’t invited to be on with the cast [on Oprah’s show],” he alleged. “I produced a show called Black White.
It was a very controversial show and again [Oprah] invited the whole cast and I wasn’t invited. So I don’t know what it was really about. I really don’t know [why]. It was something that I wanted to do very much.
