WWE star John Cena speaks up about the infamous feud he had with fellow wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The pair regularly faced off each other inside the ring; however, during their WrestleMania matches between 2012 and 2013, their relationship had a fallout after Cena accused The Rock of focusing more on acting than wrestling.

John Cena Revisits And Reflects On Infamous Feud With Dwayne Johnson
In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, John Cena spills all the tea regarding his controversial fight with Dwayne Johnson, and also shared some reflections he had throughout the entire incident:
“I got selfish, and me living WWE at the point and not having any concept of growth or someone else’s perspective, I took Dwayne’s comments as not genuine. My view was, if you love something, be there every day. What a hypocrite I am, because I still love WWE and I can’t go all the time. And I just didn’t see that, I was so selfish.”
The scandalous dispute brought so much noise and popularity during their time at WrestleMania. Despite the fame, Cena believed it placed both of them in a critical situation:
“I wanted a main event marquee match because it would better what I thought was the business. And that’s so short-sighted and selfish. It worked, but it worked at the cost of two people who communicated and almost put it in jeopardy.”

Cena acknowledged his fault, and said that during that time, his mind was all about fame and money:
“I knew that my perspective was wrong. And yes, it worked, and yes, we sold tickets, and yes, people loved it, and they chose sides. It was a real polarizing event. We could have done that with everybody working together and playing it nice, and that was my fault.”
The 46-year-old pro wrestler revealed how the issue became so toxic that it was no longer a healthy place for work:
“And there was a moment where there was a lot of bad vibes between us, and rightfully so. It was almost at the cost of our friendship, which I would like to say now is in a really good place.”
Cena humbly admitting his shortcomings was an important part of rekindling their friendship. The wrestler paid a visit to Johnson’s mother to apologize for badmouthing her son and then proceeded to his old friend’s dressing room to reconcile.
Dwayne Johnson Returns To Fast X Franchise Amid Controversy
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
The Rock agreed to appear in Fast X in a cameo scene despite his heated debate with Vin Diesel. Like his feud with Cena, the controversy was scrutinized by the public eye.
The issue started after Johnson accused several cast members of being “candy asses”. Later on, Diesel publicly requested Johnson to return for Fast X. The actor turned him down, claiming the post was manipulative.
But after Black Adam’s box office flop, the actor soon realized that returning to the Fast & Furious franchise and reprising his role as Agent Hobbs would redeem his career.
Fast X is now showing in theaters worldwide.
