Justin Bieber Video With Hailey Baldwin's Dad Takes Off Online (NG)

A video of Justin Bieber meeting Hailey Bieber and her father for the first time has gone viral online.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) tied the knot in a private courthouse ceremony in September 2018. On May 9 this year, the “Peaches” singer announced that the couple are expecting their first child together by sharing a reel of photos showcasing Hailey Bieber’s growing bump to Instagram.

Now, a clip is circulating online that shows the first time the couple ever met. In the resurfaced video, Hailey Bieber’s father, “The Usual Suspects” actor Stephen Baldwin, is conversing with a 15-year-old Justin Bieber backstage at the Today show in 2009.

“My name’s Stephen Baldwin, this is my daughter, Hailey,” Baldwin said as the camera cut to his then 12-year-old daughter. “We’ve been enjoying your music.”

Hailey Bieber played it cool as she had a blank expression on her face while shaking hands with the singer. “Nice to meet you,” an up-and-coming Justin Bieber said. Little did they both know they were meeting their future husband and wife.

Newsweek emailed individual spokespeople for Justin and Hailey Bieber for comment Tuesday.

The video was posted to X (formerly Twitter) by user @historyinmemes with the caption, “Justin Bieber meeting his future wife and father in-law [sic] for the first time in 2009.” At the time of writing, it had been viewed 32.3 million times.

People took the comments to share their love for the video, with one person commenting: “imagine having video proof of the very first time you made eye contact with the love of yo life??”

“isn’t it nice how unknowingly meeting your future spouse was caught on film and now it’s something to look back to,” said another.

“Baby Bieber is going to EAT THIS UP when he/she gets older,” a third person wrote.

A fourth person added: “Father in law was already plotting.”

The post was also shared by the account @PicturesFoIder, where it has 1.2 million views.

While Justin and Hailey Bieber first met in 2009, they wouldn’t go on to date each other until years later. This is because Justin Bieber started dating former teen idol Selena Gomez in 2010, with their on-again-off-again relationship reportedly lasting until 2018.

When the couple decided to split in 2014, Justin Bieber began dating Hailey Bieber. However, Gomez and Bieber appeared to rekindle their romance in early 2018, with the actress posting a birthday tribute to the singer in March. This time the relationship didn’t last long, as they reportedly decided to “take a break,” with Bieber getting back together with Hailey Bieber that June. They tied the knot a few months later.

Hailey Bieber has previously battled rumors that she “stole” her Grammy-winning husband from Gomez.

The model refuted the claims during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, telling host Alexandra Cooper: “I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody—that’s the end of it.”
