The supermodel opened up in a Vogue interview about being the only one of her siblings who doesn’t have kids, and shares that she is enjoying her ‘kidless freedom’ as her friend Hailey announces pregnancy.

Kendall Jenner enjoying her ‘kidless freedom’

Kendall Jenner says she is enjoying being child-free and all the freedom that comes with it, even if she is the only one out of her siblings and her friends who doesn’t have kids yet.

In a cover interview for the latest issue of Vogue, the supermodel, who is 28, opened up about not being a parent and choosing to not live close to her mom, Kris Jenner, like the rest of her sisters do. “Even as a kid, I always have been [creating boundaries],” she says. “There are days when I look at what they have and think, ‘That’s really special.’ I do like being a bit removed, but one day I’ll make my way, probably.”

She used to have a different timeline when she was younger and planned to have kids already. “When I was younger I used to say that by 27 I’d love to have kids,” she said. “Now I’m past that and I feel like I’m still so young. I’m enjoying my kidless freedom.”

Kendall’s Vogue cover and her interview were released on Thursday, May 9, the same day her close friends Hailey Bieber, 27, and Justin Bieber, 30, announced they were having their first child together. Kendall’s six siblings, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Rob Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner all have children.

Kim shares four kids with Kanye West, Khloe has two with Tristan Thompson, while Kourtney has four, three with ex-Scott Disick and one with husband Travis Barker. Rob has a daughter, Dream, with ex-Blac Chyna. Meanwhile, Kylie, who is 26, shares two kids with ex Travis Scott. Her friend Gigi Hadid, who is 29, also welcomed a daughter named Khai with ex Zayn Malik in September 2020.

Kendall has been open about being the only one of her sisters that doesn’t have kids. In a recent episode of The Kardashians, she spoke to her former brother-in-law Scott about how her crippling anxiety is one of the main reasons she is “scared to have children.” In another episode of The Kardashians, Kendall said: “I just think about my life and the freedom that I have right now, the ease I have in picking up and going somewhere.”

In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kendall, who was 24 at the time, opened up about being jealous that her little sister Kylie was expecting a baby as was one of her best friends. “Some days I am like ‘hmph,'” she said in the episode in 2021. “I think it also started to hit me when Kylie was having a baby and one of my best friends is having a baby and she’s my age. So I’m like cool, I’m a little jealous but it’s fine.”

In her confessional, she then added: “I am the only one in my family who does not have a kid. During quarantine, and sitting at home naturally you get pretty bored. And start thinking about a lot of things. Sometimes I see Stormi and True and Chicago all playing together and I’m just like ‘Ahhh.’ I want kids badly, soon, too.”

In WSJ Magazine’s Summer digital issue, the model talked about the idea of having kids, saying she would leave Los Angeles when the time came. “I’m excited for that time in my life,” Kendall said. “I just know it’s not right now.”

Kendall has been recently linked to Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, whom she reportedly broke up with months ago but they were recently spotted together at the 2024 Met Gala earlier this month.
