Kesha’s 2009 hit Tik Tok is going to sound a little different from now now on.

The Your Love Is My Drug singer confirmed that the lyric change she did at Coachella this year is permanent and that fans should learn it for her upcoming shows. During a surprise appearance in Renee Rapp’s Coachella set on April 14, Kesha came out to perform the iconic track and change the beginning lyrics from “Wake up in the mornin’ feelin’ like P. Diddy.” to “Wake up in the mornin’ like f— P. Diddy.”

Then both artists threw up middle fingers in the air as they sang the newly changed last couple of words. Outside of Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday, Kesha made that confirmation to TMZ when they asked her about the Diddy shade and the choice behind it as well. “I want to hear it louder than ever. I stand by that.”

“I’m not the kind of person to shut the f— up. I know what I stand for. I know my integrity is rock solid and I speak the truth” she double downed with a shrug at the end. “And the industry can kind of like suck my dick.”

The cause of the lyric change is the recent sexual abuse allegations and the various sexual assault lawsuits the music mogul is facing and has faced. In late March, his Los Angeles and Miami mansions were raided by the US Department of Homeland Security due to those allegations and lawsuits. Diddy has denied the allegations and investigations are ongoing.

Kesha has been vocal in the past about her own experience with sexual assault. In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against music producer and former collaborator Dr. Luke accusing him of sexual assault, battery as well as drugging her. Then Luke filed his own countersuit against the 37-year old which led to their long standing legal battle.

They settled the defamation lawsuit in 2023 in which both of them made a statement on their social media accounts about the “resolution.” Kesha’s next show is May 31 at a Pride event in West Hollywood, California, so fans have time to prepare.
