Kim Kardashian and Lauren Sánchez found themselves in a high-stakes bidding battle over Balenciaga at the Kering Foundation’s third annual Caring for Women dinner in New York.

According to sources, the two fashion icons were both competing for a “coveted Balenciaga Couture experience” at the event and were “bantering back and forth to raise funds for the Kering Foundation.”

Adding to the excitement, another bidder also joined in, driving the bidding to a staggering $175,000.

Our fashion insider shared that “Balenciaga ended up approving on the spot, that all three could get the experience for $175K each,” ultimately raising $525,000.

The package included choosing a piece from the Balenciaga Couture Collections in Paris, described as “an experience accessible to few.”

For those less familiar with fashion, “couture” refers to creating custom clothing to fit a client’s specifications.

Balenciaga explained in the program that the lot represented “a timeless and pure expression of craft, providing an architecture to the silhouette that gives the wearer the strongest notion of elegance and sophistication.”

Sánchez, 54, and Kardashian, 43, also bid on the same package last year, with both winning again.

The evening was co-hosted by Kardashian alongside Salma Hayek, Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault, Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves, Carmelo Anthony, Priyanka Chopra, artist Urs Fischer, designer Donatella Versace, and Naomi Watts.

Gayle King served as the night’s emcee, and the guest list included Sánchez’s fiancé Jeff Bezos, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry, Lindsay Lohan, Dakota Johnson, Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, and more.

Kering, the luxury fashion group, also owns brands like Gucci, Brioni, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, and others.

Kering established its foundation in 2008 to “combat gender-based violence and child abuse to disrupt the cycle of intergenerational violence.”
