Kylie Jenner says she was ‘heartbroken’ over Jordyn Woods fallout from cheating scandal with Khloe’s partner

Kylie Jenner admitted that she was ‘heartbroken’ over her friendship fallout with Jordyn Woods over the infamous cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson five years earlier.

The TV personality, 27 – who recently attended BFF Hailey Bieber’s Rhode bash in Beverly Hills – opened up about the topic during an interview for Elle’s November cover story published on Wednesday.

Jenner and Woods notably went their separate ways after Jordyn kissed Khloe Kardashian’s then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson at a party back in 2019.

‘I was heartbroken,’ Kylie expressed. ‘To lose that person felt really lonely, but I had to go through that.’

‘I learned so much, gained so much independence, and was there for myself. It helped me grow up a little bit, because we were so attached at the hip.’

The star further explained to the publication that ‘it was needed distance’ for both herself and Woods.

‘I think that in order for us both to grow, she needed to spread her wings and do what she needed to do as well.’

Jenner stated that the pair ‘always tried to talk through things’ despite their friendship being over in the public eye.

She told Elle, ‘Anytime something happened, good or bad, and I needed to call someone, it would always be her.’

At the time the cheating scandal came to light in February 2019, a source told People that Kylie and her family were ‘furious’ and ‘blindsided.’

The following month, Woods talked about the kiss on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk – shortly after Khloe and Tristan split amid the scandal.

While leaving a party, the media personality said Thompson ‘did kiss me’ but said there was ‘no passion, no nothing, on the way out…’

However, she said at the time, ‘I allowed myself to be in that position. And when alcohol is involved people make dumb moves, or people get caught up in the moment or who knows.’

After the interview, Khloe jumped to Twitter in response and penned, ‘You ARE the reason my family broke up!’

Despite their fallout five years earlier, Kylie and Jordyn reunited in July 2023 when they were spotted grabbing a bite to eat at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles – their first public appearance together since 2019.

An insider told People at the time, ‘Jordyn reached out to Kylie to apologize for how everything went down and let her know that she loves her.’

Later in November 2023, Kylie revealed her status with Woods during an episode of The Kardashians as she had a conversation with Tristan.

At one point, he told Jenner, ‘I feel…it really bothers me because it’s like…like we’ve always had such a dope relationship.’

‘And I feel like everyone got affected differently, you know, but I think you got affected the most by the situation with losing a sister, basically, you know,’ he said of Jordyn.

‘Like, you lost Jordyn, who was a big part of your life, because I mean like, I know how much she meant to your life, and you guys were two peas in a pod.’

Thompson added, ‘So the fact that I put myself and her in a situation that wasn’t right, and wasn’t smart, made it tough for you and Khloe.’

He later told Kylie, ‘The fact that I came with my poor decisions and being a f***ing idiot and just being young and stupid, I wanted to just say I’m sorry again for that.’

Jenner thanked Tristan for his apology and expressed, ‘I think I was so codependent with Jordyn that I could have never imagined my life without her. We would have probably still been like living together.

‘And I think she needed to grow without me, and I needed to grow without her, but you know, Jordyn and I are cool. We still talk and catch up, we’re good,’ she revealed.

Earlier this year in January, both Kylie and Jordyn were spotted exchanging friendly waves towards each other while attending the Jean Paul Gaultier x Simone Rocha show at Paris Fashion Week.

The moment was captured in a short reel uploaded to i-D’s main TikTok page, and fans shared their thoughts, with one penning, ‘Awww they love each other that’s so cute.’

Another added, ‘besties are back,’ while one also typed out, ‘I’m so happy they’re friends again.’

In May, Kylie gave an update on her friendship with Woods after they crossed paths during Paris Fashion Week.

During an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Jenner told Khloe, ‘I saw Jordyn again in Paris. It was fun. I think we have like a lot more like healthy distance in the relationship.’

‘Now it’s like, we talk once a month. I think what I do love now is that the narrative about us online is also over,’ the beauty mogul admitted.

‘Like when we were seen leaving that restaurant, it was a story for a day or two days or whatever, and then now it’s like over. People know that we’re cool and no one’s talking about it anymore.’

Khloe then added, ‘I’ve always told you like I never want you to have regrets in life and I for sure never want you to have regrets with anything that comes to me.’

‘I told you like when you were saying that you miss her and whatever, I’ve never had an issue with you keeping your friendships with anyone. That’s not my job in life.’

In a confessional, Kylie said, ‘I’m happy to have this conversation with Khloe, because I think people don’t really understand how pure Khloe’s heart is. Even right after everything happened, her energy was always the same with me.’

‘She’s like, “You need to do whatever makes you happy. There’s nothing more important to me than you and your happiness. And she’s just very special and I just wish people knew how special she was…”‘

Last month in September, Kylie and Jordyn reunited once again in a TikTok with Jenner’s BFF Anastasia ‘Stassie’ Karanikolaou. 

In the short clip, Kylie could be seem mouthing the words from audio of her sister, Kim Kardashian, and said, ‘Okay guys, we’re back!’

In a confessional, Kylie said, ‘I’m happy to have this conversation with Khloe, because I think people don’t really understand how pure Khloe’s heart is’; Khloe and her ex Tristan Thompson seen in 2018 in L.A.

Last month in September, Kylie and Jordyn reunited once again in a TikTok with Jenner’s BFF Anastasia ‘Stassie’ Karanikolaou

Jordyn then stepped forward and mouthed the words, ‘Did you miss us?’ while Stassie added, ‘Cause we missed you!’

Fans jumped to the comment section to share their thoughts over the reunion, with one penning, ‘JORDYN AND KY. KING KYLIE ERA IS REALLY RETURNING.’

Another added, ‘seeing Jordyn and stassie, I knew Kylie isn’t far,’ while one fan typed out, ‘Jordyn we definitely missed you.’

The same month, Woods enjoyed dinner with Kylie and Stassie at Funke restaurant in Los Angeles for an event.
