LEBRON James has revealed that he is quitting social media indefinitely.
James, 39, has 52.9 million followers on X and 159 million on Instagram.
Prior to announcing his departure from social media, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar shared a post by Kevin Durant’s manager Rich Kleiman.
The 47-year-old posted on October 24, “We can all acknowledge that sports is the last part of society that universally brings people together.
“So why can’t the coverage do the same? It’s only click bait when you say it.
“When the platform is so big, you can make the change and allow us all an escape from real life negativity. I for one find it all a waste of breath.”

Tagging Kleiman, James uploaded a screenshot of the post, adding, “AMEN!!”
He also posted the screenshot to his Instagram Story, adding, “Damn shame what it’s come to.”
James followed up with his social media decision five minutes later.
“And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care,” he wrote on X.

James is set to turn 40 on December 30 and is in his 22nd NBA season.
The Lakers are third in the Western Conference, having started 10-4 under first-year head coach JJ Redick.
James and Co relied on a 37-point explosion from rookie Dalton Knecht to beat the 3-11 Utah Jazz last time out.
After the game, the four-time NBA champion hinted at his dissatisfaction with the treatment he receives online.
“Everybody on the internet calls me a liar all the time,” James said when asked about Knecht in the locker room.
‘I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE’
“They say I lie about everything. So what am I now? I’ve been said it. I watched him. I watched Tennessee a lot.”
Following laughter from those off camera, James added of Knecht, “I did not think he was going to fall to us.
“I thought it would be impossible. I have no idea how that happened.
“But (I’m) pretty grateful and pretty happy that he’s here.
