LeBron James “Miles Ahead” of Michael Jordan and NBA Greats After 40,000 Milestone, per ESPN Millionaire

LeBron James might be just one game away from reaching one of the biggest milestones of his career. After his dominant 31-point performance in last night’s win against the Wizards, King James is only 9 points shy from scoring 40,000 career points. And with his incredible 1,200+ game streak of scoring double-digit points, LeBron is likely to cross that mark in his next Lakers appearance. He will be the first player in NBA history to reach that milestone and start the 40,000-point club.

King James scoring 40,000 career points is so impressive that ESPN analyst Zach Lowe believes it could put him above and beyond NBA greats, including Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Lowe said, “By the end of LeBron’s career, statistically, he is going to be miles ahead in counting stats in everything over everybody.” LeBron has been dominating the NBA for over two decades. He entered the league as ‘The Chosen One’ in 2003 and is doing what no player has ever done at the age of 39.

Zach Lowe also claimed people who consider Michael Jordan their GOAT will only have one argument left after LeBron retires. Whenever the GOAT debate comes up, Jordan supporters bring up his 6-0 Finals victories compared to LeBron’s 4-6. However, King James is far above His Airness in almost every other career stat. LeBron has made the All-NBA team 19 times in his career and is on the verge of making his 20th selection this year. He is also a record 20-time All-Star. With the way LeBron is playing at age 39, he could set a benchmark that no player might ever be able to reach.

Although LeBron is having a historic 21st season, he has been unable to lead the Lakers out of their tough situation. The Lakers got two massive wins on back-to-back nights against the LA Clippers and the Washington Wizards. It took some late-game heroics from 39-year-old LeBron James, but they got the job done. Despite the Lakers’ 9-3 run in February, they are stuck in the 9th spot in the Western Conference standings.

“Damn 39 Year Old Senior Citizen”: LeBron James’ Lakers Leave NBA Champ Fuming Over Clippers Loss

Even former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins was not too optimistic about the Lakers’ future. ESPN analyst Malika Andrews asked Perkins how he felt about LeBron James and Co. after their overtime win over the Wizards. Big Perk replied, “To be honest, I don’t care…The Lakers should feel deflated right now.”

Perkins was referring to the fact that despite the Lakers’ recent resurgence, they have made no progress and remain in the play-in situation. LeBron James and Co. need to figure things out before it is too late to save their season.
