Man City drop major summer transfer hint in announcement on club website

The star has been linked with a move away.

Manchester City have dropped a major transfer hint while revealing their new home kit.

This Premier League season is not over yet, but as has become the norm in recent years, many clubs have already released their new kits for next season.

Reigning Premier League champions Man City unveiled their 2024-25 home strip on Thursday with a video featuring several stars from both the men’s and women’s teams.

The theme of the shirt is the Manchester ‘0161’ area code, with the number threading through the trims of the shirt.

The likes of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku were among stars in Pep Guardiola’s side to feature in the video, and they were joined by Jack Grealish.

In recent weeks there have been reports linking the England attacker with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, three years after he completed a £100 million move from Aston Villa.

Grealish, who earns a salary of around £300,000 per week at City, is reportedly a summer target for Chelsea, while he has also been linked to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 28-year-old has contributed just three goals and three assists this season, but is expected to be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024 this summer.

The reports of a move for Grealish seemed dubious at best, but the fact that he has featured in City’s kit unveiling appears to confirm that he is firmly in Guardiola’s plans next season.

After a mixed season on a personal level, Grealish is looking to end the season on a high.

City will win a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title if they beat West Ham on Sunday. Six days later they will look to defend their FA Cup crown when they take on neighbours Man United in the final at Wembley.
