Social media messages from the man arrested for stalking Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark have been highlighted following the disturbing sequence of events.
A 55-year-old Texas native named Michael Lewis stands accused of contacting Clark via social media, where he made threats and sent Se.xu@l ly explicit messages, before driving to Indianapolis.
Lewis has been charged with stalking, which is a Level 5 felony in Indianapolis.
Per TMZ, the Metropolitan Police Department noted having contacted Lewis last week, but he claimed he was in the area on vacation and that his messages were simply fantasy. He kept sending messages after the police asked him to stop, which eventually led to his arrest.

“this fantasy caitlin relationship is changing me for the better. . And about an hour ago i felt strong caitlin feelings. .like sensual. .wow,” one of them read.
“i already have one foot on a banana peel and the other on a stalking charge. . So i wont be able to wear ur hoodie. .wont look good in court,” he wrote the following day.
“@CaitlinClark22 im gonna touch myself,” another post read. “Not if but just when baby.”
“u think I could get your wifi password? Its got me locked out,” he posted on January 3, implying he was close to Clark’s residence.
“may i come up and get some sugar? . . . . Sugar,” he added.
Police were informed of his behavior five days later.
“i had absolutely no plans of ever coming back here. . But i sent u a post saying i want to be with you everywhere. .and then my Father says what are you doing here then?” another message read.
“[T]hen came the decision of all decisions. .i finally had to choose 1. . . Fla or indy. . omg not easy. .at all. . I had a ton invested. as i surveyed the landscape, my mind kept coming back to you. . There simply is nobody better for me. .its not even close,” Lewis also wrote.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Caitlin Clark told police she was fearful for her safety and adjusted her public appearances as a result.
Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears addressed the arrest in a statement on Monday.
“It takes a lot of courage for women to come forward in these cases, which is why many don’t,” he said. “In doing so, the victim is setting an example for all women who deserve to live and work in Indy without the threat of Se.xu@l violence.”
