ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith had a furious response to his team’s shock blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, as he joked that the team made him want to vomit.
Appearing on the network’s halftime report on Sunday, Smith was animated about his team’s first-half performance. The score was 69-41 at the time. Indiana ended up winning the game, 121-89.
‘If you’re [Knicks head coach] Tom Thibodeau, Stephen A., how do you manage this second half?’ ESPN’s NBA Countdown Host Malika Andrews asked the longtime basketball analyst.
‘Well, the first thing I’d do is get out of the bathroom because I just finished throwing up after watching my team play the way that they played in the first half,’ Smith replied.
‘It was absolutely, positively awful,’ he added.
