The Kansas City Chiefs have attracted some concern from fans and other social media accounts following another incident involving an injured referee.
Carl Johnson, one of the officials in charge of the ‘Thursday Night Football’ clash between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, needed treatment after bumping into a Packers player during last night’s game. He was able to return to the field after he was attended to by medical staff, but the incident was significant enough to get fans talking about the Chiefs.
“The injuries are beginning to pile up for the Chiefs,” the NFL Memes account joked as the caption to a clip of Johnson’s mishap, which you can see below:
“They’ll be fine they have depth at that position,” a fan suggested in response.
“As a Chiefs fan, it’s so difficult to watch one of your own go down. Prayers up,” another fan joked.
“Oh no, ref down on the field. Big loss for the Chiefs,” someone added.
“Chiefs player hurt during the Lions and Packers game. Hope he’s okay,” someone else chimed in.
The Kansas City Chiefs Are Having A Hard Time Beating The Allegations
Johnson is not the only referee who has gotten injured during a game this season, so the trolling was thick on the night.
“Two of the Chiefs best players have suffered significant injuries over the last couple weeks,” MLFootball shared. “Hopefully, Kansas City recovers in time for the playoffs🙏.”
“lol, the Chiefs game changers they desperately need this week when they face LAC!” a fan suggested.
This all stems from claims of referees favoring the Chiefs against other opponents whenever they play.
It appears the notion isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
