On Thursday, June 27, the Chicago Sky will play the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces for the first time in the 2024 season.
All three of the aforementioned rookies have seen significant roles since entering the WNBA in April. And both Reese and Cardoso met Martin and Caitlin Clark in the previous two NCAAW National Championships. In 2023, Reese and LSU defeated Iowa, and in 2024, Cardoso and South Carolina beat the Hawkeyes.
On Monday, a few days before the Sky-Aces battle, Martin discussed the impact Reese and Cardoso have and used three words to describe them: “Big. Strong. Athletic.”

“I’m really happy for them for how they’ve been playing. They’re big, they’re strong, they’re athletic post players, and they go hard every play,” Martin said, “They rebound like crazy.
