NHL player safety committee hands out suspension involving Connor McDavid

The Vancouver Canucks may have won game 3 on Sunday night against the Edmonton Oilers in round 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but they ultimately lost as they’ll be shorthanded in their next game on Tuesday night.

This morning the NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced that Vancouver Canucks defensemen Carson Soucy would receive a hearing for his crosscheck on Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.

McDavid received a crosscheck in the back, swiftly followed with a cross check to the face by Canucks defensemen Carson Soucy.

It all sparked when McDavid delivered a slash to Soucy after the final buzzer.

Zadorov has been fined $5,000 for his crosscheck, but what does Soucy now get?

The NHL Player and Safety committee announced the following:
Vancouver’s Carson Soucy has been suspended for one playoff game for cross-checking Edmonton’s Connor McDavid.

The Canucks have been trying their hardest to shutdown Connor McDavid and the Oilers red-hot offence, and it won’t be any easier with them being down a defensemen (Soucy) in game four on Tuesday night.
