Fans are not happy that the WNBA have appeared to shut Indiana Fever superstar Catlin Clark.

Clark has enjoyed a historic rookie campaign with the Fever, racking up averages of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds, while she has also broken a number of other rookie records, attracting record-breaking audiences in person and on TV.

The superstar rookie will be one of the most attractive parts of the WNBA postseason, with the sixth seed Fever taking on the third seed Connecticut in the first round of the playoffs.

But many fans were left unimpressed when the WNBA posted a postseason graphic on social media with eight players featured. Clark was not one of them.

Kelsey Mitchell was selected ahead of Clark, who did have an excellent season, but she still doesn’t have the superstardom of her rookie teammate.

One fan wrote: “Attendance way up, arenas sold out and you leave off the player responsible for the success? Bravo.” Another wrote: “The fact that Clark isn’t on this graphic should prove to everyone that WNBA is jealous of her success.”

The strategy has been questioned by many on social media, but this could be a case of the WNBA trying to raise the profiles of other players given Clark‘s obvious dominance in the PR world.

Clark on her fame

Asked about her fame recently, Clark said: “I don’t know, I mean, I still, I don’t feel famous, like I don’t feel like a celebrity. So, that’s not the way I approach my life and I approach people in my life.”

She added: “I don’t even have a moment to breathe and really understand what’s going on at times
