Rasmus Hojlund has addressed a recent report claiming that his Manchester United teammates don’t pass to him.

Last summer, 21-year-old Hojlund left Serie A side Atalanta to move to Old Trafford in a deal worth a reported fee of £72 million.

Since then, the Danish international has scored 16 goals across all competitions for the Red Devils.

Recently, there was a report by the Manchester Evening News claiming Hojlund’s teammates were reluctant to pass him the ball as they remained unconvinced by his ability.

The report stated: “A United squad member told a confidant that certain players are seeking alternative solutions in the final third due to Hojlund’s lean spell in front of goal. United have scored one goal in their past three games.

“The Manchester Evening News revealed in December certain United players had doubts over Hojlund amid his Premier League drought.”

Speaking recently to Tipsbladet, Hojlund spoke about the report.

He said: “I don’t understand such an article. I feel like I get the ball if I’m in the right positions.

“I would have liked to get the ball a bit more sometimes, but that’s just not always possible. It’s another example of something I have to shut out because it’s just a lot of noise.”

Hojlund added: “You have to filter the stories because 90-95 percent of them are nonsense. I had to learn to sort through them, because there’s not much else I can do other than put them on ice.”

Ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup final, United boss Erik ten Hag said: “In a season that’s not [gone] our way, we are there. We have an opportunity and it will never be easy but we have to go for it and we will go for it.

“We have to believe it as we did last season and as we know, often against good opponents, we play our best football and I expect us to do this on Saturday.”
