Oliver Moore was put in a tough spot when he was interviewed by Rinkside GM, a Blackhawks podcast.
They asked Oliver Moore whether he thought that Brock Faber or Connor Bedard, whom he was drafted with Bedard in the 1st round(19th overall), should win the Calder Trophy.
Moore earnestly seemed to deflect the question, as Moore a Minnesota Golden Gopher obviously felt a pull towards a Gopher who preceded him before but also recognized Bedard’s great rookie season.
He wouldn’t give a definitive answer and said he felt it could go either way, which resulted in the hosts jokingly remarked that Moore has a future in politics.
Moore, a Golden Gopher for the 2023-2024 season played 39 games with the Big Ten team, scored 33 points( 9 G, 24 A), and is one of the Blackhawks’ best prospects.
The young center isn’t ready to join the NHL just, as he just completed his 1st year in the NCAA, still has raw talent, skill, and size to develop if he is to make the jump to the Hawks in the next few years.
And what better way to keep things civil, than to remain diplomatic when it comes to picking your own Calder Trophy favorite?
