It was a moment to forget for one Olympics worker

Fans believe the moment will ‘haunt’ the medic forever after footage of the incident made the rounds on social media.

There are thousands of athletes competing at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris which means there are thousands of other personale on hand to make sure the Games run as smoothly as possible.

Medics are on hand during all events in the event of injury and a team were rushed into action during the fencing event on Saturday.

Brazil’s fencing star Nathalie Moellhausen fainted during his match against Canada’s Ruien Xiao and medics immediately rushed to her side.

Two medics and an Olympic organiser tended to her needs with a chair being brought over for the athlete to sit on.

But in a hilarious lapse of judgement, one of the medics sat on the chair himself before being told the chair was for Moellhausen which prompted him to stand back up.

The moment was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media. Here is how people responded to the clip.

One fan said: “This is going to haunt him forever.”

Another said: “He’ll be in the shower 35 years from now and it will pop in his head and make him cringe.”

A third added: “When in big stress, I’ll do similar stupid things. I feel for him.”

“He was pre-warming the seat for her. Nice guy,” a fourth joked.

Moellhausen eventually returned to the match but lost the bout, later revealing the pain she felt was immense.

She also revealed she has a tumour on her coccyx but opted against surgery to remove it as it was benign.

The Brazilian confirmed the surgery has now been brought forward.

China currently top the medal table on day 4.
