The Washington Commanders are busy this week as they hosted LSU’s Jayden Daniels, North Carolina’s Drake Maye, Michigan’s JJ McCarthy, and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. on Tuesday and Wednesday. The four signal-callers are part of the larger group of prospects joining them.

The Chicago Bears are presumed to be locked to select USC’s Caleb Williams at No. 1, leaving Jayden Daniels, UNC’s Drake Maye, and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy as options for the Commanders’ next quarterback.

The Washington Commanders may be selecting Jayden Daniels as the former LSU star quarterback was spotted at the airport and picked up by Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn while meeting with general manager Adam Peters, who was waiting in an SUV to whisk him away.

According to Dane Brugler of the Athletic, the Washington Commanders are “pointing towards” selecting LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Brugler noted that things will remain “unpredictable” until the night of April 25, however.

“Truth is, new Washington general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn aren’t tipping their hands, so everyone is still guessing at this point,” Brugler wrote.

The only certain thing coming out of the Commanders’ camp so far this season is that Peters has not yet tipped his hand as to what his team plans to do, but the video above seems to suggest where they may be headed.

Peters, who was hired in January, will now look to begin a more successful rebuild.

Jayden Daniels, who began his college career at Arizona State back in 2019, spent three years at ASU before transferring to LSU for the 2022 season. He started two seasons and won the Heisman in 2023.

Daniels has a total win-loss record of 37-18. In total, he tossed 12,750 yards while completing 66.3 percent of his passes to go along with 89 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He also rushed for 3,307 yards and 34 touchdowns, via his Wikipedia.com. Needless to say, the Washington Commanders will be getting themselves quite the quarterback.
