Patrick mahomes confirmed 5 reasons why Travis Kelce wont be able to play chiefs - Bengals

Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, has been listed on the injury report as the team prepares for their Week 16 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day. Kelce is reportedly dealing with a left elbow contusion/stinger, raising questions about his availability for the crucial game.

Kelce’s injury concerns arose during Week 15 when he left the field with an elbow injury.

Head coach Andy Reid later revealed that Kelce had a “little stinger” but returned to the game after receiving attention from the trainers. Despite the injury, Kelce finished the game against the New England Patriots.

The injury report on Thursday added a surprise element, listing Kelce with a neck issue. However, the tight end was a full participant in practice, indicating a positive development in his recovery. The fact that Kelce was able to practice fully is a reassuring sign for Chiefs fans.
The elbow injury occurred when Kelce took a hit and briefly grimaced in pain as he went to the sidelines. Fortunately, the tight end quickly returned to the game and contributed with five catches for 28 yards. While his impact on the game was limited, his ability to play through the injury showcased his toughness and determination.

All signs currently point to Travis Kelce taking the field in the Week 16 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders. His full participation in Thursday’s practice suggests that the injury is not severe. However, getting Kelce more involved in the game plan will be crucial for the Chiefs’ offense and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

In the event of any setbacks, the Chiefs have options, with Noah Gray likely to start at tight end. Kelce has been impressed with the progress of Rashee Rice, who would be in line for more targets if needed. Kelce praised Rice’s growth, especially in key moments like third downs, and expressed confidence in Coach Reid’s ability to utilize Rice’s skill sets effectively.
