New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe had an interesting reaction to the news of his teammate and former QB competition getting traded.

On Sunday, the Patriots traded Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a sixth-round pick in next month’s draft. Jones lost his starting job to Zappe midseason in what turned out to be Bill Belichick’s final year with the Patriots.

Fans on social media noticed that Zappe “liked” the post of the Jones trade from the official NFL Instagram page, which you can see below:

The Patriots are widely expected to use the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on a quarterback, likely LSU’s Jayden Daniels or North Carolina’s Drake Maye. It remains to be seen if new head coach Jerod Mayo will keep Zappe on as a backup, or if the third-year QB will also be let go.

Jones’ roller-coaster of a tenure in New England ends with a record of 18-24-0 with 8,918 passing yards, 46 touchdowns and 36 interceptions.
