Premier League giant 'make contact' over signing Mason Greenwood from Man Utd in shock move

It remains to be seen where the Man Utd star will be next season.

Manchester United star Mason Greenwood has been approached by one Premier League club over a potential transfer.

The Bradford-born striker has spent the current season on loan with Getafe in Spain and has notched 10 goals thus far.

With the Red Devils new minority owners INEOS set to discuss his future this summer, interest has begun to rise in the 22-year-old.

According to a report from the Telegraph earlier this week, at least two clubs in the Premier League have enquired about signing Greenwood later this year.

A further source has indicated that one of the club is Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.

Getafe are also interested in keeping the Manchester United forward but it is thought the required fee is said to be in the £40million mark.

Angel Torres, president of the La Liga side, has confirmed that the Red Devils have told interest parties they will accept a respectable offer for Greenwood.

“If it was up to the lad, his parents and the club [Getafe], I think he would continue for another year,” Torres told Radio Marca.

“But regarding Manchester [United], the news that we have from last week, where the [Getafe] sporting director went to England to see some games and was with them, is that, if a good offer comes along, they would want to sell because he is not going to go back there.

“We’ll have to wait until the end of June, the people and the coach are very happy with him. I think he will remain with us for another season or at least until January. He is a good footballer.”

Greenwood was of course involved in allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault earlier this. He denied all the charges.

The Crown Prosecution Service said there was “no longer a realistic prospect of conviction” after key witnesses withdrew and new material also came to light.
