There are reportedly three teams to follow closely in the Saquon Barkley sweepstakes as 2024 NFL free agency draws closer.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers “are believed to be serious suitors” for the 27-year-old running back:

“The Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears are believed to be serious suitors. The rival Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have interest, but aren’t expected to reach Barkley’s price point. Still, they shouldn’t be completely counted out because they are, at the very least, involved in the running back market.”

The Ravens’ top two running backs, Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins, are both pending free agents as well. Ditto for the Chargers’ top RB, Austin Ekeler. The Bears already have a star in the backfield in Khalil Herbert, but they do have plenty of cap space to make a splash for the 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Though injuries have limited Barkley to 74 total games over his first three NFL seasons, he has exceeded 1,200 yards of offense four times. Despite missing three games in 2023, Barkley finished with 962 rushing yards, six rushing scores and 41 receptions for 280 receiving yards and four receiving scores.
