The Dallas Cowboys are one of the few teams in the NFL that have made very little movement since free agency negotiations started this week and they’ve faced a gauntlet of criticism.

As of Wednesday morning, the only move the Cowboys have made in free agency is re-signing long snapper Trent Sieg to a one-year deal. Not exactly a thrilling move by any means.

That all might be changing petty soon.

The NFL Network claimed that the team is currently “working on something” behind the scenes.

Fans went nuts about what they could possibly have up their sleeves:

Despite being one of the better teams in the NFL over the past several years and coming off yet another playoff appearance, former Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant thinks Dallas is looking toward the future and not the present due to their inactivity.

“I love my boys and I’m going to go on record and say it,” he said Tuesday on X ( formerly Twitter). “It’s not enough in this draft to give up what you gave up and expect to win this upcoming year. These past 2-3yrs was the cowboys best chance to play in the big game I think they are rebuilding in my opinion.”

Not helping matters is that Dallas now has just over $2 million of cap space.

The Cowboys have made it a habit of playing well in the regular season over the past few years and entering the playoffs with high expectations only to fall short every single time.

Dallas has finished the regular season with a 12–5 record for three straight years but has only advanced past the wild-card round once.

The former powerhouse hasn’t appeared in a conference championship game since its Super Bowl run after the 1995 season.
