The Kansas City Chiefs parade went from pure jubilation to terror in seconds.

Pictures and videos captured the moment that the Kansas City Chiefs’ triumphant Super Bowl Parade descended into chaos when bullets started flying. At least one person has been killed and 22 others have been injured in the shooting that unfolded shortly after the Chiefs left the stage.

The Kansas City Fire Department said earlier eight victims had ‘immediate life-threatening injuries,’ seven had life-threatening injuries, and six had non-life threatening.

Reports indicated multiple children may multiple children may also have been gunned down in the tragic celebration, and were rushed to nearby Children’s Mercy Hospital.

NFL Network’s James Palmer gave heartbreaking details on those children who became victims on a day that should’ve been about love and celebration.

“Children’s Mercy is treating 12 patients from the rally. 11 are children. 9 have gunshot wounds, per Lisa Augustine, Senior Manager, Media Relations Children’s Mercy Kansas City. I’m at a loss for words,” he wrote.

Victims were transported to three different hospitals: Children’s Mercy Hospital, Truman Medical Center, and St. Luke’s Hospital.

Over 800 police officers were on the scene for the parade, but when you have almost one million people outside in one area, you still cannot have enough eyes everywhere.

The National Football League issued a statement Wednesday following a deadly shooting that took place at Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebrations.

“We are deeply saddened by the senseless shooting that occurred today near the end of the rally in Kansas City for the Chiefs. Our thoughts are with the victims and everyone affected,” the league said on X. “We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of law enforcement and emergency personnel.”

The Chiefs became the first back-to-back Super Bowl champs in nearly two decades when they won Sunday’s game 25-22 in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers. They had won last year’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
