The Kansas City Chiefs are likely sweating over another offensive player after losing Marquise Brown to a shoulder dislocation over the weekend. According to reports, there are fresh injury concerns over offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, who was carted off from practice on Wednesday.

Taylor left practice early, but training camp sources were unable to say what the problem was. It was noted that he exited in the front seat of the medical cart and did not participate in one-on-one drills before leaving

Taylor, a second-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019, is heading into his second year with Kansas City, having signed a four-year deal worth $80 million.

The 26-year-old has locked down the starting right tackle role, but Lucas Niang took his spot after he left practice, per ProFootballTalk.

Jawaan Taylor’s Injury Could Make The Chiefs’ Difficult Offseason Even Worse

As noted above, the Chiefs have already lost Brown to injury. The wide receiver is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.

There are also fears over a possible suspension for Rashee Rice, who is facing legal repercussions following his part in a street race that led to a massive traffic accident in Dallas earlier in the offseason.

“I haven’t heard anything at this point,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters after being quizzed on the matter.

Rice is facing eight charges for the accident and is reported to be a suspect in an assault understood to have taken place in a Dallas nightclub back in May.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has reported that Rice could be out for several games, though he is expected to start the season.

“This is a lengthy legal process, which means he could start the season, actually play games or finish the whole year, because the league likes to see the full scope of things before they make a decision on how many games a player might face,” the reporter said last month.

“We saw that with Alvin Kamara a couple of years ago when he had his battery charges. He played the whole year then was suspended for the next year. So that is a possibility that the Chiefs are bracing for here, they just don’t know.”

As for Jawaan Taylor, we expect an update on his condition soon.
