The New York Giants had a disappointing 2023 season following a 2022 campaign in which they showed signs of steady improvement and made the playoffs.

The team is now keen on retooling for 2024 and will likely make an addition at quarterback. While Daniel Jones earned himself a massive deal last year, his job might not be as secure as reports coming from the Senior Bowl suggest the team will pursue a veteran quarterback in free agency to compete with their starter.

The NFC East outfit has already confirmed that Jones will be QB1 in 2024 as long as he’s healthy. However, he can’t claim to have done enough to fend off competition and, although NY could look to the draft, word is that they prefer to sign a veteran signal-caller.

Kirk Cousins could be an option as he’s headed into free agency this year, but he’d probably not want to walk into a situation in which his position as a starter isn’t assured.

It could be an interesting free-agency period for the Giants. Let’s see how they handle it.
