The longtime Philadelphia Eagles center represents an unstoppable growing force in the sports media industry, and his old NFC East counterpart was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Kelce joins Monday Night Football crew

Kelce, who retired from the NFL in March with one Super Bowl ring and a successful 13-season career, will bring his wealth of football knowledge and experience to the popular pregame show. The future Hall of Famer will be joining a lineup that includes Scott Van PeltRyan ClarkMarcus SpearsAdam Schefter, and Michelle Beisner-Buck. He will also be involved in ESPN’s Super Bowl studio coverage.

Known as an ex-Pro Bowl center, Jason has seen his off-the-field fame rise notably as one-half of the New Heights Show podcast with his brother Travis Kelce, the boyfriend of the pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Griffin who had been part of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown for the past two years, will not be returning to the show. He initially joined the show in 2022, replacing Randy Moss. Despite his departure from Monday Night Countdown, Griffin will continue to work with ESPN, calling games and contributing to studio work, and making the demotion easier to swallow.

Kelce’s addition to the Monday Night Countdown team comes as no surprise, given his impressive football career and his ability to provide insightful commentary. His presence is sure to be a valuable asset to the show, and fans can look forward to seeing him in action when the new season kicks off.
