Kenny Pickett and Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson is going to be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers next season, barring something wild.

The Steelers have traded Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he will play backup to Jalen Hurts.

According to reports, Pickett was keen on competing for the starting job in Pittsburgh but became disenchanted with the team following their acquisition of Wilson and asked to be traded.

Steelers fans are not all happy with Pickett’s departure as they don’t feel like Russ has the competitiveness it takes, but he’s made an attempt to get through to them with a three-word message on social media.

Russell Wilson Is Ready To Work

Moments after Pickett’s trade was announced, the former Denver Broncos quarterback posted, “Ready to Work!!” to X.

The timing suggests it was no coincidence.

As for the Steelers, they will now need to find a backup quarterback in the wake of Pickett’s exit.
