Gypsy Rose Blanchard had a great meeting with Kim Kardashian, but their relationship hasn’t continued to blossom.
“I’ve kept in touch with her producer and I have, like, posted our selfies that we had taken and Kim had ‘liked’ them on my social media,” Blanchard, 33, said during the Wednesday, October 16, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “I have DMed her a couple times on Instagram.”
She added, “It’s kind of, like, we have minimal contact, but I know that is always a line that is open.”
Gypsy Rose was released from prison in December 2023 after serving seven years for the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. (Dee Dee had been found dead with multiple stab wounds in 2015 at the age of 48.) Gypsy Rose and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, admitted to planning the murder after Dee Dee allegedly abused Gypsy Rose throughout her childhood.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Wants to Work on Prison Reform With Kim Kardashian
Gypsy Rose was granted parole in September 2023, three months before she was released from jail. After Gypsy Rose returned home to Louisiana, Kardashian, 43, reached out to set up a meeting to discuss prison reform. (The Kardashians star has become an impassioned advocate for prison reform while studying to become an attorney.)
“Gypsy Rose Blanchard was just released from prison for being involved in the murder of her mother. She reached out to me on social media,” Kardashian said in a July episode of the Hulu docuseries. “She’s expressed wanting to get into prison reform and with what she’s learned being in prison herself, I think there’s such an opportunity for her to use her platform in a real important way.”

In the episode, Gypsy Rose also gave Kardashian “massive kudos” for reaching out.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s Pop Culture Relevance Explained: TV Shows and More
“I think a lot of people are afraid of touching me as a topic because I am too controversial. So I give you massive props,” Gypsy Rose said at the time. “This has been a roller-coaster ride. I am blessed to be given a second chance because when I was going through what I was going through, no one really talked about Munchausen by proxy. No one was ever a guiding light for me.”
After Kardashian and Gypsy Rose detailed her incarceration on the show, they posed for a joint social media selfie.
“It was exciting. Kim was really nice,” Gypsy Rose recalled to podcast host Nick Viall on Wednesday, during which she was joined by boyfriend Ken Urker. “I, actually, have never watched The Kardashians, so going on the show, the producer got a big kick out of the fact that I had never watched it before.”
She added, “I knew Kim was very influential [and] that she had the show The Kardashians, she has Skims and I knew that she was very into prison reform. I said, ‘She has sisters, right? She has a couple of sisters. That’s, like, what I know about Kim.'”
Gypsy Rose has since only watched “my episode” of The Kardashians.
