Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever ended their seven-year WNBA Playoffs drought with a monstrous 93-86 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday night in The Hoosier State.

Afterward, basketball pundit Skip Bayless shared a surprising Caitlin Clark comparison to one of the NFL’s all-time greats, an offensive legend who played for his beloved Cowboys in Dallas for 13 seasons before heading to Arizona for two seasons with the Cardinals.

The comparison has a lot to do not just with Clark’s impact on the game and statistical achievements, but also her jersey number on the court.

“Caitlin Clark is the best 22 since Emmitt Smith,” Bayless said via his X account.

Bayless remained firmly aboard the Fever train with the WNBA Playoffs set to begin in roughly two weeks.

“Caitlin Clark: TRIPLE DOUBLE,” the controversial sports host declared.

“24/10/10. Fever remain W’s hottest team. I got the Fever,” Bayless added, echoing his previous sentiments from earlier this season on Coach Christie Sides’ team.

Many fans seemed completely shocked by Bayless’ Clark take, finding themselves in a state of total disbelief.

“A’ja Wilson is literally in the league,” one fan said in response, noting the Las Vegas Aces’ superstar who wears the same number.

“No love for A’ja Wilson (as usual)?” another fan asked.

Other fans mentioned Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens as a player who should have been mentioned alongside Smith and Clark.

The Fever will take on the Minnesota Lynx tomorrow night in search of their 19th win against 16 losses on the season.

Clark’s 24 points was matched by teammate Aliyah Boston, who also hauled in 14 rebounds on the night.
