Stephen Curry left Crypto.com in disbelief with his rare aggression. The Golden State Warriors superstar returned to the team after missing out on three games with an ankle injury. And the match-up wasn’t anything short of a high-octane drama. It was the LA Lakers Vs Warriors. The 4x NBA Champion understood his assignment and made the crowd erupt with an insane bucket.
During the third quarter, Steph sunk a tough-contested three-pointer and also drew a foul to take the lead to 9 points. Following the bucket, he burst into a rare aggression, leaving the Hollywood power couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in disbelief. Steph’s warring celebration visibly stumped the couple seated on the courtside. The Baby-faced Assassin usually pulls out his famous shimmy shake celebration and rarely emotes aggressively on the court.
The Bay Area superstar had a slow start to the game, as he failed to drop a single bucket in the first quarter. However, he put on his game face for the next two quarters, dropping 13 points in each of them. And, the four-point play was the product of the comeback run.
Moreover, given the context of the game, both sides were fighting for a spot in the playoffs. With only 15 odd games left in the season, they have to make the most of it to climb up the ladder in the West. The Warriors have already lost two out of their three games in the absence of Stephen Curry and stepped into the game with a must-win mentality.
The Warriors vs Lakers clash is one of the most hyped games in the season. The two teams have already faced each other twice in the season and took home a victory each. These factors may have played a role in Steph’s aggressive celebration. Meanwhile, there is another factor as well, the Curry-Bron factor.
The last time, the duo stepped on the Crypto.com arena the game went into overtime. The superstars went at each other, giving the fans one of the best sports entertainment. LeBron James had the last laugh, as he dropped two clutch free throws to win the home-court match.
Following the game, the duo engaged in a quick chat about their performances. James revealed what Stephen Curry told him after the game. He said, “Steph, after the game, came to me and said, ‘How does it keep getting better? How do we keep getting better?’.”
This could have been an added factor for Steph’s aggressive celebration, to bring out the best in him tonight. Notably, he also stole the ball from King James in the closing moments of the game and denied him a chance to close the points gap. What do you make of the four-point play and the unconventional celebration by Stephen Curry? Let us know in the comments.
