The Indiana Fever’s winning streak came to abrupt end with their 90-80 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on August 24. While Fever head coach Christie Sides started the same lineup that defeated the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm following the Olympic break, turnovers were a problem while Lynx star Napheesa Collier went off with 31 points.
Clark finished the night with a team-high 23 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell put 21 points while Aliyah Boston scored 10 points with 15 rebounds. However, NaLyssa Smith scored a total of 2 points while Fever forward Katie Lou Samuelson put up a goose egg for the second straight game.
Fans went off on social media, begging Sides to take Samuelson off the court and give Lexie Hull, who recently put up a career-high 22 points, more minutes.

One fan posted, “Katie Lou Samuelson did not do ANYTHING tonight and the coach does not bench her!??” Another person complained, “How does Katie Lou keep finding herself in the starting lineup?!”
Another fan commented, “Fever came back because they benched Katie Lou so of course you knew Christie Sides was gonna start her in the second half lol.”
Over the past three matchups, Samuelson has scored a total of three points, seven rebounds, and six assists. In that same span, Hull put up 38 points, five rebounds, and zero assists.
The Fever (13-15) will look to get back in the win column when they face the Atlanta Dream on Monday, August 26.
