preview for Best Grammy Looks of All Time

With one sweet photo, Taylor Swift shut down speculation that she had intentionally rebuffed Céline Dion at the 66th Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Dion—who revealed in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder known as stiff-person syndrome—has been out of the public spotlight for some time. But the “My Heart Will Go On” singer made a surprise appearance at the ceremony at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena to present the Album of the Year award, which ultimately went to Taylor Swift for Midnights. The win was a massive achievement for Swift, who made history as the first artist to win Album of the Year four times—and she understandably got swept up in the festivities. As Swift ascended the stage and hugged her fellow collaborators and producers, she appeared to take the golden gramophone from Dion’s hands with barely an acknowledgment.

Suffice it to say, that did not go over well with the Canadian superstar’s fans on social media. “Taylor not even acknowledging Celine Dion is not sitting right with my spirit,” one X user wrote. “Girl, that is CELINE DION.”

But fans need not worry! The two musical powerhouses were photographed together backstage shortly after the history-making moment. In the pictures, Swift, clad in her sculptural Schiaparelli Couture gown, smiles widely while loosely wrapping her arms around Dion’s neck. Dion, who wore a Valentino Couture blush gown and caramel coat, poses with her arm around Swift’s back.

Besides winning Album of the Year last night, Swift also won the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy for Midnights, and used that acceptance speech to announce her upcoming 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which officially drops on April 19.
