Even in a country less interested in American pop music, Taylor Swift’s presence still creates a significant wave, driving business activities from hotels to small pastry shops.
Beth Beji, a staff member at Clove Bakery, shared that they’ve recently received numerous requests to create a truly unique type of pastry, possibly themed around Taylor Swift, from fans of the singer.
Beji shared, “There’s a huge ‘obsession’ with Taylor Swift, and we’ve seen that in recent orders. We’ve received many orders for sweets, small pastries, cookies shaped like her. We’ve also been asked to make various candies, gummies shaped like Taylor Swift on stage, riding unicorns, or mimicking the covers of her albums… The orders are described very specifically, vividly down to every detail.”
She noted that her team is quite busy with these orders. According to media observations, places like Beji’s are not the only ones bustling during the three-month European leg of the singer’s tour, with Paris being the first stop.
One peculiar thing is Taylor Swift’s relatively close bond with this country. She became known here in 2010 when she held her first concert. In the album “RED,” she also filmed the music video “Begin Again” here. In 2019, when releasing the “Lover” album, Paris was also the only promotional stop for this album.
In her 11th studio album “Midnights,” she also wrote a song called “Paris.” In it, the singer “loves to the point of breathlessness” imagining herself walking hand in hand with her partner on the streets of this city. She also mentions the romance and the dazzling light performances often held on the Eiffel Tower.
However, Paris is also a place that brings many sorrows to the singer. In July 2023, when preparing to re-release the “Speak Now” album (Taylor’s Version), an employee of the vinyl pressing plant here posted the tracklist before the album’s release date. This forced the singer’s team to announce the tracklist days earlier.
With this new stop of The Eras Tour, the economic boost from the performance is also eagerly awaited. According to many statistics, many American fans have chosen to come to Europe to see Taylor Swift because ticket prices are more affordable. They turn the concert into a vacation, so not only ticket prices but also hotels, dining services… will bring in a lot of revenue for Paris.
Among the European stops, Paris is particularly anticipated because this is the first concert after the singer released her highly successful new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Fans are hoping that she will add new songs to The Eras Tour.
Known for high demand, the black market ticket market is also booming. Ticket prices currently range from 69.50 to 245.50 euros for seats, and up to 827.40 euros for VIP packages. However, fraud is also happening, making it very difficult to determine the validity of tickets.
