Team USA Women

Team USA’s Women’s Basketball team looks to add another gold medal to their collection in the 2024 Paris Olympics. But before everything unfolded on the court, the team had a blast interacting with other athletes during the opening ceremony as they all shared a common goal: to win a gold medal.

Each gave encouraging words to the others and even had playful interactions. Fans will get to see all of it on social media as they show an inside look at the experience in Paris.

Team USA Women’s Basketball’s 5 most epic moments from Paris Olympics ceremony
#5. Coco Gauff and A’ja Wilson’s interaction
Tennis star Coco Gauff was in full fan mode when she passed by WNBA star A’ja Wilson. The two stopped, greeted each other and shared a hug. Even though Gauff was chosen to be the female flagbearer for Team USA, she couldn’t help but share with Wilson how she’s an inspiration.

“Nice to meet you!” Gauff said. “You’re so inspirational!”

Both champions shared a selfie before they parted ways.

#4. Wilson’s Olympic glasses from Steph Curry

One fashion element that caught many’s attention was Wilson’s Olympic glasses. The Las Vegas Aces star wore the glasses and had fun with her new accessory. She even posed with the women’s national team while wearing it.

She said the glasses came from the Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.

Now, people might flood Curry’s DMs, asking where they could find the iconic glasses.

#3. Brittney Griner towering over LeBron James
It’s rare to see a female athlete tower over an NBA star. However, that’s what happened when Team USA’s women’s team asked LeBron James for a photo. Phoenix Mercury’s Griner took the chance to stand beside James when the picture was taken.

Both athletes are listed at 6-foot-9, but it looks like Griner is a bit taller.

#2. Kelsey Plum’s selfie hunting with other stars

The amount of talent in one venue is sometimes overlooked. But Kelsey Plum utilized the chance as she took selfies with other athletes. She took photos with Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, Warriors’ Curry and some women’s basketball stars.

#1. Team USA’s pose in front of the Eiffel Tower
When in France, one must pose in front of the Eiffel Tower. That’s exactly what the women’s national basketball team did on the opening ceremony night. The entire squad gathered in front of the camera and took a snap of one of the most notable structures in the world.

New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu posted the photo of her team on her Instagram account. It is the fifth photo in this embedded post.

“Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony 🇺🇸 One of the most surreal experiences I’ve been apart of…Blessed,” Ionescu posted.

The team selfie is the best way to remember the historic day for USA sports.
