The NFL referees can make or break the game, and they certainly did that on Saturday and Joe Mixon was not happy about it.

In the first quarter of Saturday’s playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Will Anderson got called for a controversial roughing the passer penalty on a sack of Patrick Mahomes. It led to three points.

Later in the game, the Texans were flagged after Mahomes slid late, which would lead to a touchdown. That 10-point swing made a huge difference in the game.

After the game, running back Joe Mixon had a lot to say about the officiating.

Mixon made it clear that everybody knows how the refs will act when they come to Arrowhead Stadium.

“Everybody knows how it is playing up here. You can never leave it into the refs hands. The whole world see, man.”

Mixon carried the ball 18 times for 88 yards and a touchdown and caught two of three targets for 12 yards in Saturday’s 23-14 divisional round loss.

Joe Mixon Had a Successful First Season In Houston

This season, Mixon has showcased his abilities as a true running back in his first year with a new team.

The Texans RB had eight games with 100-plus rushing yards in 2024, including the playoffs. He ended the year with 245 carries, 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Because of his efforts, Joe Mixon earned his second Pro Bowl honor in his first campaign with the Texans.
