These 5 NFL Teams Are Doomed After Getting Stuck With The Most Difficult Schedules For The 2024 Season /d

If the NFL follows recent history, the regular season schedule for 2024 will be announced sometime in the second week of May, two weeks after the 2024 Draft.

For three months now, we’ve known each team’s set of home and away opponents for the 17-game 2024 season. Within three or so weeks, the NFL will have finally revealed the full 18-week regular season schedule

Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis shared rankings for all 32 teams’ 2024 strength of schedule, following the release of each club’s projected win total by Vegas.

According to the data shared by Sharp, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the toughest strength of schedule in 2024. The New England Patriots have the second-hardest schedule, followed by the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.

The Steelers play in the AFC North, far and away the toughest division in football. All four clubs finished with winning records (Baltimore a league-best 13-4, Cleveland 11-6, Pittsburgh 10-7 and Cincinnati 9-8).

That’s six games against winning teams right there. The Steelers’ remaining slate of home opponents are: the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys. With Aaron Rodgers returning from a season-ending Achilles tear, that game against the Jets promises to be awfully difficult.

On the road, Pittsburgh will face the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. With Kirk Cousins coming to Atlanta, that game also figures to be a serious challenge.

Falcons Have The Easiest NFL Strength Of Schedule

The Atlanta Falcons are the team with the easiest strength of schedule for 2024. Obviously, it helps playing in a weak NFC South division that was won by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a mediocre 9-8 record a year ago.

Outside of their two divisional games with Tampa, Atlanta will only face four 2023 playoff teams next season: Dallas, Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
