Singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David ka Spyro, has called out music executive, Ubi Franklin, for making him perform at a birthday party with claims that Davido would pay him (Spyro) $5000.

While speaking in a recent interview, the ‘Who’s Your Guy’ crooner said sometime last year, Ubi invited him to Ghana to join in a birthday celebration for Iyanya. Spyro said when he arrived in Ghana, he stayed in the same apartment building with Iyanya and Ubi. According to him, Ubi tried to make him perform at some gigs but he declined, saying that he has to get permission from his management before performing at any show.

Spyro said Ubi then told him that Davido who was also in Ghana at the time, invited him (Spryo) to a party to perform, claiming that he would be paid $5000 by Davido.

‘’He called me in the morning and he was like he is going to Ghana. I was like what’s happening and he said it’s Iyanya’s birthday. I was like let’s go celebrate Iyanya. Ubi then came downstairs and said David said that we should perform at a birthday party that he was invited to and that he was going to give us $5000 each. I called him to the side and said first of all, I do not charge $5000. In Nigerian currency that I charge, the least I charge is N20 million.”

He said he followed Ubi to the said party as he needed Davido to help him record a video promoting his new music but they didn’t conclude on the performance fee. He said once they got to the venue, he was shocked when he was called on stage by the MC to perform. Spyro said he couldn’t decline as the party had dignitaries and that it would have been embarrassing.

‘’Right after I said Ubi, you have made me perform, where is my money that you said Davido said he would give us? He said we should go and meet Davido.”

Spyro said after much pressure, Ubi confessed to him that Davido never asked him to invite Spyro and that Davido never promised him $5000. He said that to date, Ubi has not paid him the said money.

He is not the one actually. Let me tell you the truth, he is not the one that said you guys should come and do the show’ I was like are you kidding me? so David doesn’t even know anything about this? You just used David’s name. This is broad day light scam bro! You just used David’s name to make me go perform on a stage. It is painful for me because you go all around scamming people of their money and this has to stop”
